Of all the styles of double IPAs seem to be possibly the most infrequent but they do them, like everything else, wonderfully.  The beer menu describes Tank Monkey Double IPA as “Mellow pale malt base provides the perfect stage for this HOPPY double IPA. Plentifully hopped with 4 west coast varieties.”  A spot on description.  Tons of fruity and citrus aroma and flavor.  Just enough malt backbone to support the big hop kick.  8.6% ABV is well hidden and it drinks wonderfully easily even out on the sunny patio.  A killer double IPA I hope is still around when I drop in for the bocce ball tournament this Saturday.
