Bottle of Firestone Walker Brewing Saucerful Of Secrets next to a glass of dark honey-colored beer.

Holidays are coming, and as the weather turns colder, many of us look for something a bit darker and bigger to keep the cold away. Bonus points when that brew brings flavors of the holiday—those warm and wonderful ones that inspire thoughts of cozy nights by the fire and time spent with friends and family. Firestone Walker Brewing Saucerful Of Secrets checks all those boxes.

Saucerful Of Secrets

This is a Brewmaster’s Collective Exclusive. It is the second release of Saucerful of Secrets, which was originally brewed with “Homebrew Chef” Sean Paxton back in 2009. Just 96 cases were produced, which shows why membership has its benefits and why you should join the Brewmaster’s Collective for 2025.

This Belgian-style Quad Ale was aged in 9-year Elijah Craig and 10-year Henry McKenna Single Barrels for 12 months. The resulting brew looks like freshly harvested honey with a finger of off-white foam that slowly falls, leaving a small layer atop the brew.

Spiced apple and dried fruit fill the nose, with notes of gentle vanilla. There’s a sweet maltiness about it, which is calmed by a light touch of beautiful bourbon. The apple pie and barrel character becomes stronger as it warms with each sip.

Sweet honey maltiness fills the mouth with the first sip. Warm bourbon, vanilla, and a hint of apple spice are present on the aftertaste, sweet upfront, then a nice dry mouthfeel. It’s warming and drinks rather easily considering the 13.5% ABV each sip packs.

It’s No Secret

What began as a homebrewer’s dream between Firestone Walker Brewmaster Matt Brynidson and Sean Paxton is again a reality. A big and bold beer packed with flavors that comfort in the cooler months.

While you may not be able to enjoy this member-exclusive brew, you can join the 2025 Brewmaster’s Collective and experience these special beers delivered all year. It’s the best beer club out there, bar none.
