Each year the Town Hall Brewery Festivus recipe changes. This year it’s a black lager made with over 300lbs of tart cherries. It has a wonderful tart cherry aroma with plenty of cherry flavor along with a hint of chocolate in the lager finish. While I’m not a huge fan of a lot of sweet cherries in a beer, tart cherries I really enjoy and this one I could drink numerous pints throughout the night. The cherries pair very nicely with the slightly roasty notes and touch of chocolate in this lager. In addition to drinking, this would also be a great beer for cooking with. Perhaps as a marinate or reduction. Grab some while you can. I’ll be headed back for more soon.
