Can of Modist Brewing Moon Guts next to a glass of beer.

Mission control, we’re ready for liftoff. Our mission to mine the moon for the dankest dabs of hazy hop action is cleared for takeoff and the course is set. Modist Brewing MoonGuts is the murky reward from this stellar travel. Here’s the mission debriefing.

MoonGuts

The crew at Modist Brewing Company has long had a Moon-theme going. They’ve produced several beers about it, and their taproom wall is adorned with an awesome spaced-out mural. MoonGuts is the latest

Deed golden-straw-colored liquid fills the glass and a frothy white head of foam forms. After several minutes the foam subsides, leaving dabs of lace clinging to the walls of the snifter, and a small coating covering the top of the brew.

Citrus fruit and tropical touches are plentiful here, with warm grapefruit, light peach, apricot, and a hint of mango coming through in the nose.

Sweet citrus fills the mouth with grapefruit and Malted oats added to the creamy mouthfeel and a double dry-hopping of Citra, Nelson Sauvin, Cryo Sultana, & Cryo El Dorado. At 8.3%, it’s got the power needed to go moon-bound, even if it isn’t labeled as a double IPA.

Blastoff

Forget the cheese, MoonGuts are far better filling for that orbiting object. This brew is delicious hazy IPA action that’s sure to help you space out.

You don’t have to line up nuts-to-butts to get all up in those MoonGuts. Just head to your local Twin Cities liquor store or the Modist taproom now.
