What happens when some of the best hazier IPA makers come together to combine their best-known creations? Modist Brewing, BlackStack Brewing, and Fair State Co-op did just. Have a look at Double Local Dream Mirror and its murky madness.
Double Local Dream Mirror
Modist Brewing Dreamyard, BlackStack Brewing Local 755, and Fair State Coop Mirror Universe. Each wonderful in their own right, but what if you combined all three? For this cool collaboration series, each brewery released their take on this crazy canned combo and the Modist Brewing release is the 3rd in the trio. Not satisfied to stick to standard levels, Modist upped the ante with a double dry-hopped double IPA version of their entry.
This brew pours a golden yellow, with a frothy head resting atop. Lacing coats the walls of the glass as the bubbles break and settle.
Double Local Dream Mirror smells of dank citrus, with a sharp pineapple, apricot, melon, and mango note all present.
A double dry-hopped dose of Citra, Mosaic, Sultana, Azacca, Amarillo, Citra Cryo, & El Dorado Cryo hops to bring it big. Dankness upfront, with citrus coming in secondary. Pineapple, apricot, and mango to round things out into the aftertaste. It starts juicy at first and then dries out nicely in the end.
With all three variations released now, there’s no clear winner. Each offers its own take on a killer combo. The winner is the beer drinker when any of these brewers drop new hazy IPA action and especially when they come together to collaborate.
Get out there and grab some Double Local Dream Mirror if you still can. Let’s hope these brewers get together for more creations very soon.
