Perennial Artisan Ales 17 Mint Chocolate Stout

Glass of dark beer sitting next to a bottle of Perennial Artisan Ales 17 Mint Chocolate Stout.

It’s always stout season. Just because it’s hot out doesn’t mean it’s not a good time to enjoy a bottle of an imperial stout. Perennial Artisan Ales 17 Mint Chocolate Stout is great no matter the weather.

17 Mint Chocolate Stout

Perennial Artisan Ales brews quite the range of beer and always has something interesting on offer. 17 Mint Chocolate stout is 11.5% ABV of imperial stout action with cocoa nibs and mint leaves.

It pours a thick jet black and forms a small deep-brown head of small bubbles. The foam subsides and leaves just a small layer atop the liquid. No sign of lacing.

Rich cocoa nibs mix with fresh mint in the nose. The more one sits and sniffs the more the king becomes dominant in the aroma.

Thick chocolate malt and cocoa nibs fill the mouth as this lush liquid coats the mouth. It’s smooth and creamy, with the viscous brew leaving an oily coating everywhere it touches.

Fresh mint leaves (not mint extract) come in after the chocolate and leave things fresh into the aftertaste. The ABV doesn’t show itself with any heat, only in the big body of this brew.

Minty

The tasty mix of rich chocolate and fresh mint play each other up wonderfully. Where mint often tastes artificial or overpowering, it’s flavorful and properly placed here.

There’s never a bad time to open a nice bottle of an imperial stout. Check out Perennial Artisan Ales 17 Mint Chocolate Stout and celebrate stout in any season.
