There’s a lot of trash out there in space (and in the craft beer world, if we’re honest). Old satellites, ditched shuttle debris, and more. But in all the crap, there’s gotta be some awesome stuff too. Modist Brewing Space Junk double dry-hopped cream IPA is one of those gems.
Space Junk
Last time Space Junk came to earth (in 2019) it was brewed with Galaxy and Mosaic hops. This year, they’ve double dry-hopped the cosmic crap out of it with Citra, Galaxy, and Strata hops, in addition to the oats, wheat, and a milk sugar addition. The result is a beer that’s anything but space garbage.
Pouring a deep golden haze, this brew displays a white head atop made of fine bubbles. It slowly settles and leaves the walls of the glass covered in wispy layers of lacing.
Nose it and you’ll find a tropical citrus treat of mango, pineapple, tangerine, grapefruit, and lemon aromas.
Jettison this thing into the mouth and the tropical party continues. Tangerine, pineapple, and grapefruit up front, with a touch of light lemon on the tail. The oats and wheat malt give Space Junk a smooth body, while the milk sugar rounds it out with a wonderful creaminess in the end.
Delicious Debris
Start the launch sequence and blast your tastebuds with this delicious double dry-hopped cream IPA. Modist Brewing created a cosmic IPA that doesn’t require a trip to Earths orbit. It’s full of fruity hop action and a creamy smooth finish, sure to satisfy.
Set course for local liquor stores and the Modist Brewing taproom to grab crowlers of this spaced-out slapper. Space Junk is has made terrestrial touchdown.
