The folks at Stone Brewing are no strangers hops. The wonderful hop has become a signature of many Stone brews and their anniversary beers have almost always showcased this lovely element of our favorite beverage. This years Stone Anniversary Ale is keeps with their tried and true formula of big beer with big hop profile. The Stone 18th Anniversary IPA once again delights hop lovers across the nation.
For their 18th Anniversary Ale, Stone Brewing has made a big hopped-up golden-brown IPA. Hopped exclusively with El Dorado hops, it packs 75 IBUs and weighs in at 8.5% ABV. This big anniversary brew is filled with aromas of lemon and herbal touches and packs big fruity hop flavor with citrus touches of lemon, orange and tropical fruits coming through nicely. Just enough malt to balance things a bit and to bring that ABV up there, this brew needs to be enjoyed fresh. Like their other anniversary beers, don’t look to age this one. Use of 100% El Dorado hops in dry-hopping builds a great lemon character to this brew and brings that bitterness hopheads crave.
For those looking for big hops, Stone Brewing anniversary ales are a great celebration of another year for Stone and a showcase of our favorite flower. If you are looking for a wonderfully hoppy brew that’s big on flavor and attitude, seek out Stone 18th Anniversary IPA while you can. Don’t miss the tasting notes, story and more behind the latest anniversary brew. Happy birthday Stone.
