Part of the 2011 Beer Camp mixed 12-pack, the California Common is a very nice example of the style. Light fruitiness in the nose with a small touch of toasty malt aroma that supports the hops nicely. Nice medium malt flavor with toasty and light caramel with a nice hop bite coming through. Nice dry finish with a touch of hops in the aftertaste. This sampler pack was a wonderful mix of different styles with all of them being done very well. I went through a couple of them and really hope to see a new sampler pack available in 2012 full of new and interesting beers from the Beer Camp program. Cheers to Sierra Nevada.
