Flying Dog Gonzo Imperial Stout is a wonderful beer. How can you make it even better? Barrel age it. Part of their Wild Dog series, Barrel-Aged Gonzo Imperial Porter is one tasty brew and aged wonderfully over the years. Great notes of vanilla, coffee, and chocolate, this beer ages for at least 180 days in oak whiskey barrels.
When this beer was released back in 2006, it came in 750ml corked and caged bottle like this. Since then, they’ve switched to 12oz bottles. The smaller format bottles are nicer for aging and mean you don’t have to drink an entire 750ml bottle or find a friend to help you drink it.
