Barrel Theory It’s Morphin Time

Can of Barrel Theory It's Morphin Time next to a glass of beer with the Power Ranger logo in the foam.

Barrel Theory has made a habit of turning hazy doubles into events, and It’s Morphin Time feels like another entry built to flex both creativity and restraint. With a hop bill anchored by Citra T-90, Strata, and Centennial Cryo, this one promises big aromatics and saturated flavor while still aiming for balance and drinkability.

It’s Morphin Time

Barrel Theory’s It’s Morphin Time hazy double IPA pours a glowing golden yellow, instantly inviting in the glass. A foamy white head of tight, compact bubbles forms on top and hangs around longer than expected before slowly settling, leaving behind sticky lace clinging to the walls with each sip. It looks soft and plush, exactly what you want heading into a hazy double.

The aroma jumps out immediately. Big notes of apricot, lemon peel, and bright citrus lead the way, followed by a subtle layer of juicy fruit and bubble gum sweetness. As it opens up, there’s a gentle hint of white strawberry that adds a softer, almost creamy fruit note without tipping into anything artificial. It’s expressive and fresh, with the hops clearly doing the heavy lifting.

On the palate, citrus takes the front seat with flavors of lemon, unripe mango, and pineapple rolling across the tongue. The Strata brings a slightly dank, tropical edge while the Citra and Centennial Cryo keep things punchy and bright. There’s just enough bitterness to remind you this is still a double IPA, but it stays smooth and controlled, never harsh or abrasive. The mouthfeel is soft and full, helping the 8.5% ABV disappear far too easily.

Power Rager

As it warms slightly, the fruit character becomes more layered, with the citrus mellowing and the tropical notes rounding out. It’s Morphin Time hits that sweet spot Barrel Theory does so well. Bold hop expression, clean execution, and dangerous drinkability. Another hazy double that proves why they remain one of the best in the game.
