BSG does so much to keep the beer industry running, keep them supplied, educated, and help push boundaries. Barrel Theory Brewing collaborated with BSG to create Hazy Like Sunday Morning. Here’s a reminder of what you drank last night.
Hazy Like A Sunday Morning
Originally intended to go on tap at #JunosBar at the Craft Brewers Conference in Denver, CO, this brew will instead be available exclusively in crowlers from the Barrel Theory taproom and in a limited number of local liquor stores, thanks to the COVID-19 outbreak.
The crowler-to-glass pours a hazy golden, with a bit of a matte look that seems to be found in brews that utilize Strata hops (it’s beautiful, not a bad thing).
Aromas of juicy sweet citrus and tropical fruit. Ripe pineapple, grapefruit, and orange are most prominent in the nose, but there’s also a touch of mango and apricot intermingled.
Abundant juicy hop fruit slides across the tongue, with apricot, light mango, pineapple, and a touch of bitter grapefruit with just a hint of bite at the end. The mouthfeel is very smooth, with the hops staring in this show and just enough malt character to balance it out nicely.
The Morning After
After a long weekend of imbibing, we often wake up feeling hazy on Sunday morning (hopefully hazy is all we feel). Barrel Theory and BSG created a delicious hazy hop drinker, and unlike a hard Sunday morning, we want to remember this one.
Pop by the Barrel Theory taproom (order online for curbside pickup) or check their social media feed to see which liquor stores you can find crowlers at. Don’t go too hard Saturday night, but it’s a great one to wake up to on Sunday.
